The wedding community spends a ton of time focusing on the bride, her hair, makeup, dress, everything surrounding her. But it’s the groom’s special day too! So we’ve built this plan to help him look his very best for the wedding. Looking good goes a long way on your wedding day, because it helps you feel your best too.
Wash and Moisturize
If you don’t already have a daily facial care routine, now is a great time to start, and it doesn’t have to be complicated! However, it’s crucial to begin this process a few months before your wedding, don’t plan to start a new regime the night before and see instant results. Experts say that it can take anywhere for 4-6 weeks to see the results of new skincare. Also, planning a wedding can be really stressful! That can cause breakouts and spots, so staying on top of this as you start your wedding planning is best. Simple things like washing your face daily and following up with a hydrating moisturizer can help keep your skin looking fresh!
Trim Your Hair
Whether you rock a lumberjack beard or like to keep your face clean shave, the look should look neat, polished and great with your hairstyle. But, most importantly, you want to look comfortable and feel like yourself. Don’t try anything new too close to the big day, to avoid having to stand on the aisle with a bad look. Have your barber give you a cut and style that you know and love for your wedding. Then, shave your face with a new, sharp razor blade to achieve close lines along your facial hair and close shave. Using an old, dull razor can cause nicks and scarring, which is not a great wedding day look!
Getting in shape for your wedding is not only a great way to slim down or tone up, it will help you relieve wedding related stress as well! Hit the gym, play basketball with your friends, or go for a run with your fiancé; do whatever makes exercise fun for you. Working out will help improve your mood and get your mind off of the stresses of wedding planning. Plus, simply dedicating a few hours a week to exercise is easier than ever with apps that support your next work out.
Taking time to relax before the big day will help you feel your absolute best. Do whatever helps you wind down! Some great ideas are getting a massage, heading to a salon for a pampering day of mani/pedis or even just having a casual date night with your fiancé (where you don’t talk about wedding planning!) Heading to a spa for a day of pampering is often done after the wedding, but why not before? That’s when you’re most stressed, and your fiancé will appreciate this gesture of support. If you prefer to stay in, plan a date night with a home cooked dinner, a movie, or a romantic bath. Take time to relax with your fiancé and connect over something besides to wedding, to get you in the best mindset possible for your big day!
A lot of the attention is on the bride for the wedding, but we don’t want to overlook the groom! With these few simple steps, the groom will be looking and feeling his best for the big day, without adding any stress to the wedding planning. Congrats on your special day!
